Hydro-Québec – Issue of Debentures Due February 15, 2065 on the Canadian Market
Montréal – Only two years after concluding a broad dialogue as part of its Action Plan 2035 – Towards a Decarbonized and Prosperous Québec, Hydro-Québec is taking stock of the positive results of the process. All of the forty or so commitments made have been carried out or are under way.
The dialogue gave citizens, local and regional communities, Indigenous communities and numerous groups and associations the opportunity to share their views on the Action Plan, leading to commitments rooted in its five key priorities. Not only did they help shape the Action Plan to better reflect the expectations expressed during the dialogue, but these commitments are now yielding tangible benefits across Québec. Here are a few examples:
Priority 1 – Improve service quality
Simplifying customer communications and continuously strengthening grid resilience through innovative solutions
Priority 2 – Help our customers make better use of energy
Rolling out incentives that encourage more efficient electricity use
Priority 3 – Increase our power generation capacity
Adopting a community partnerships approach to project development and introducing the Wind Power Development Strategy
Priority 4 – Partner with First Nations and Inuit communities
Implementing the Strategy for Economic Reconciliation and to Strengthen Relations with First Nations and Inuit
Priority 5 – Become an agile, innovative and transparent organization
Enhancing support for municipalities
