Light up your Holidays at the Électrium: energizing —and free—for the whole family!

During the holidays, Hydro-Québec’s electricity interpretation centre is offering an energizing—and free—program for the whole family. Introductory science workshops run by ProfaquaThis link will redirect you to an external site., the specialists in popularizing science, will captivate curious children over the age of 6 as well as teenagers. A shortened version of the centre’s guided tour will also be available.

Fun workshops for the whole family
From December 27 to December 30, 2015, and from January 3 to 5, 2016, electricity won’t be the only hot topic at the Électrium. Budding scientists will get to participate in workshops on a variety of scientific subjects: explore the miniature world of electricity and nanotechnologies, discover the immensity of the universe, build dams and electricity towers… A treat for curious minds!
Guides will lead children and their parents through a new theme every day.
For detailed programming, workshop schedules or to make reservations (places are limited), contact the Électrium team at 1 800 267-4558, or visit www.hydroquebec.com/visit. Note that workshops will be held in French only.

Temporary exhibit
You can also discover the period during the building of the enormous dams in the Côte-Nord and the first electricity “highway.” The Électrium hosts an exhibit highlighting the 50 years of Jean-Lesage generating station (Manic-2) and the first high-voltage (735-kV) power transmission line.

Holiday hours
The Électrium will be open from December 21 to 23 and 27 to 30, 2015, and from January 3 to 5, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular hours will resume on January 6.
The Électrium is located in Sainte-Julie, Exit 87 off Highway 30, in the Montérégie region.

At the Électrium, electricity is at the heart of life
Hydro-Québec’s electricity interpretation centre invites the public to learn more about the electric phenomena that surround us. With its adapted guided tours and interactive modules, you can observe the electric eel, explore electricity’s role in the human body and even get to test who, in your family, has the fastest reflexes.
