Disraeli becomes the first city in the Thetford region to join the Electric Circuit

The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Disraeli for the installation of a first public charging station in the Thetford tourist region. The charging station will soon be installed on Avenue Champlain (Highway 112), across from the Parc de la Gare, located next to 585, Avenue Champlain.

“This initiative by the people in the region will mean that many Quebecers will be able to discover this beautiful city, whose modernization objectives include a strong environmental component,” noted Mayor Jacques Lessard.

“The city of Disraeli’s decision to join the Electric Circuit is a major step for the network,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “This initial charging station on Highway 112 is strategically located and promotes the reputation of our network. In addition to further developing the public charging network in the region, it is in line with our objective to expand our geographical coverage.”

The Electric Circuit is also pursuing its development in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, where other charging stations are also in operation, namely in the Bâtisseurs parking lot in Saint-Georges de Beauce and the St-Hubert restaurant in Saint-Nicolas.

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec.

The network is a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec.

The Electric Circuit has one fast-charge (400-V) station and over 250 240-V charging stations in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since it was inaugurated in March 2012, 66 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. The network will continue to expand in order to offer the greatest geographical coverage and serve the largest number of electric vehicle (EV) drivers in many Québec regions.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
