Over $5 billion to boost the involvement of Indigenous communities in major wind power projects
Montréal – In the context of a highly uncertain business environment in the United States, particularly through the imposition of tariffs, EVLO, which specializes in battery energy storage systems, announced today a strategic repositioning of its activities.
In order to contain business risks, EVLO will focus its efforts on the Canadian market, paying special attention to Hydro-Québec’s needs, all while remaining open to certain other international markets. The commercialization of products and services in the United States will therefore cease, but delivery of projects already underway will continue.
This repositioning will enable the expertise developed by EVLO in terms of energy storage systems and solutions to continue to be capitalized on. This expertise remains vital to Hydro-Québec, particularly owing to the increasingly important role of energy storage in the development of the power grid and in the success of the energy transition.
As part of this repositioning, a reorganization of EVLO’s activities will take place, which will result in a reduction of the company’s personnel. Hydro-Québec wishes to acknowledge the expertise, professionalism and commitment of the EVLO teams. Support will be provided to the employees affected by these changes.
