Press Release

The municipality of Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk joins the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit and the municipality of Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk are pleased to announce the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. Visitors can now charge their cars in the town hall parking lot, located at 299 Route des Cantons.

The mayor of Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk, Hugo Desormeaux, is delighted with the agreement. “The installation of this charging station is a concrete step to support constructive initiatives that allow our residents to do their part to protect their living environment. The municipality is known for its recreation, and environmental protection is now becoming strategic for our residents, visitors and vacationers.”

“We are pleased to welcome the municipality of Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk to the Electric Circuit,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec. “With these public charging stations, Saint-Émile-de-Suffolk encourages the adoption of electric vehicles, while contributing to developing the network, which now has 32 public charging stations in the Outaouais region.”

The Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises over 630 public charging stations, including 32 fast-charge stations, in operation across 16 Québec regions. Since its launch in March 2012, 141 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has over 7,800 members.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned. The Electric Circuit card also allows users to access VERnetwork’s 150 Québec charging stations.
