To mark the 375th anniversary of MontréalHydro-Québec to host Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership Summit in 2017
In May 2017, Hydro-Québec will be hosting the 26th Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP) Summit in Montréal. For two days, this major event will bring together executives from some of the world’s largest electric utilities.

The fact that we are holding this prestigious summit confirms our strategic and enviable position on the international scene. Hydro-Québec is recognized for its know-how and innovation, which is something that we can be proud of,” said Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro-Québec.
By hosting and organizing this major event in Montréal in 2017, Hydro-Québec will contribute to the city’s 375th anniversary celebrations. Moreover, Hydro-Québec—one of the two founding members of the GSEP—is confirming its commitment to the organization, which it will be chairing in 2016-2017.
About the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership
The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership, which has its General Secretariat in Montréal, is an international not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1992 after the Rio Summit. Previously known as e8, it is made up of the largest electric utilities in the world. The mission of its members is to play a proactive role in the global debates on key electricity industry issues and to promote sustainable development by means of knowledge-transfer projects and programs geared to the electricity sector in developing countries around the world (http://www.globalelectricity.org/en/).
