A first charging station in the RCM of Val-Saint-FrançoisThe municipality of Racine joins the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the municipality of Racine for the installation of a public electric-vehicle (EV) charging station. Visitors can now charge their cars in the town hall parking lot at 145 Route 222.

Racine mayor François Boissonneault is delighted with the agreement: “The installation of this charging station is right in line with our desire to support initiatives that enable our residents to do their part to protect the environment for the benefit of both the community and its visitors.”

“We are very pleased to welcome the municipality of Racine to the Electric Circuit with this first charging station in the RCM of Val-Saint-François,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec. “EV drivers will now be able to stop there to charge their vehicles and discover the area’s attractions.”

The Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises close to 400 public charging stations, including eight fast-charge stations, in operation in select parking lots of the AMT as well as several RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St Hubert restaurants across Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 108 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has over 4,000 members.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site theelectriccircuit.com and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned.
