Press Release
Hydro-Québec encourages the use of water- and energy-saving products: an environmentally sound choice
Hydro-Québec is launching a new energy efficiency program, the Water- and Energy-Saving Products Program, inviting its customers to get a kit of products including a low-flow showerhead—fixed or hand-held—and faucet aerators. The program includes a component for municipalities that want to promote the kits to their residents.
According to Statistics Canada’s 2011 Survey of Drinking Water Plants, Quebecers use a great deal of water: 45% more than the Canadian average and 75% more than Ontarians.
Use less water, save more energy
These products help save electricity through the more efficient use of hot water, which represents 20% of home electricity costs, while reducing overall water consumption, since they use up to 40% less water than conventional products.
