In Québec, electricity rates remain the lowest in North America

Quebecers pay the lowest electricity rates in Canada, and across North America.

In Montréal, as in the rest of Québec, residential consumers pay an average price 7.3¢ per kilowatthour (kWh), compared to Winnipeg at 9.4¢/kWh, Vancouver at 11.6¢/kWh and Toronto at 13.9¢/kWh. In the United States, New York customers pay 30.6¢/kWh, or 4 times more than Montrealers for the same amount of electricity. And in Boston, it’s even more at 33.4¢/kWh.
