The partnership agreement calls for the installation of three public charging stations, including a first fast-charge station in the Centre-du-Québec region, located in the parking lot at the corner of De Bigarré and Perreault streets. Two 240-V charging stations are also available: one in the Thomas-Grégoire parking lot (behind the Évasion complex) and at the other the Grand-Tronc bike station, in the Saint-Louis parking lot.

“The city of Victoriaville is committed to providing residents with alternatives to reduce their ecological footprint. In addition to our five municipal electric vehicles, many electric vehicles are already on our roads. Victoriaville is proud to inaugurate these three charging stations, especially the fast-charge station,” said Mayor Alain Rayes.

“We are very pleased to welcome the city of Victoriaville to the Electric Circuit,” noted, France Lampron, Hydro-Québec’s Director – Transportation Electrification, on behalf of the partners of the Electric Circuit. “We salute the city’s desire to offer electric vehicle drivers 240-V charging stations and a fast-charge station to greatly improve the charging offering in the Centre-du-Québec region. It’s thanks to initiatives like these that we can prepare for the growing number of electric vehicles on our roads.”

The city of Victoriaville’s new charging stations join the six already in service in the region, in Drummondville, Deschaîllons-sur-Saint-Laurent and Lyster.

About the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in providing the charging infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network has over 350 public charging stations in operation, including eight fast-charge stations, in select parking lots of the AMT as well as several RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants across Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 91 private and institutional partners have joined The Electric Circuit.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile application for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
