The Bell Centre joins The Electric Circuit

On behalf of the founding partners of The Electric Circuit, Hydro-Québec is pleased to confirm the signature of a partnership agreement with the Bell Centre to deploy two public charging stations for electric vehicles (EV). They will be installed in its parking lot in the coming weeks.

“We are proud and delighted to contribute to improving the quality of our environment by installing charging stations. This initiative fits in perfectly with our sustainable development program, The goal is green,” explained Kevin Gilmore, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Montreal Canadiens.

“Having such a prestigious partner in the sports and entertainment industry join The Electric Circuit shows that the interest in public charging is here to stay,” said Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Senior Director – Strategic Planning at Hydro-Québec. “EV drivers can charge their vehicles while they attend sports or cultural events at the Bell Centre, a venue with a well-established reputation.”

The Electric Circuit is a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec.

The Electric Circuit offers nearly one hundred fifty 240-V charging stations in ten Québec regions. Since its launch on March 30, 2012, 21 private and institutional partners have joined The Electric Circuit. The network will continue to expand in order to offer the greatest geographical coverage and serve more EV drivers in many Québec regions.

While electric vehicles owners do most of their charging at home and at work, drivers can travel worry-free, knowing they can top up their batteries on the road if they need to thank to a public charging infrastructure. Electric Circuit users also have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
