Hydro-Québec highlights the remarkable results and sustained efforts of ten Québec companies and institutions in energy efficiency.
The Energy Savers’ Circle, which unites energy efficiency leaders in Québec, welcomes nine new members. They demonstrated their commitment by reducing their annual energy consumption by at least 5% or 50 GWh. They also adopted an energy efficiency policy and designated responsible for it.
An outsanding performance for Rio Tinto Aluminium
Hydro-Québec would also like to recognize Rio Tinto Aluminium for reaching the Distinction level, by achieving the highest standards in energy efficiency. To do so, the company reduced its annual energy consumption by 343 GWh.
“It is very important for Hydro-Québec to support its customers in their energy efficiency efforts. By using energy wisely, companies become more competitive while at the same time contributing to more responsible management of energy resources,” said Rémi Dubois, Director – Large-Power Customers at Hydro-Québec Distribution.
Created in 2005, Hydro-Québec’s Energy Savers’ Circle now has 88 members including companies and institutions. To find out about the members of the Energy Savers’ Circle and their achievements, go to www.hydroquebec.com/majorcustomers/membres.html.
