Pierre Despars to leave Hydro-Québec

Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Pierre Despars recently informed the Chair of the Board of Directors, Manon Brouillette, of his decision to leave Hydro-Québec.

The members of the Board of Directors and the Management Committee wish to express their sincere thanks for his excellent work as Acting President and Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure as Vice President – Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Pierre Despars and his teams count among their major accomplishments the conclusion of the power purchase agreement for New York City and the acquisition of Great River Hydro in New England. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.

Given that Michael Sabia will join the company on August 1, 2023, Jean-Hugues Lafleur, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will step in as Acting President and CEO until that time.
