Hydro-Québec announces new grant to accelerate solar self-generation
Hydro-Québec is launching an promotion to encourage customers to choose Online Billing and support a worthwhile cause at the same time. From September 6 to December 6, 2016, for each customer who signs up for Online Billing, Hydro-Québec will donate $3 to the Centraide office in their region. In addition, all customers signed up for Online Billing will be entered in a draw for a Chevrolet Volt.
“Right now, about 30% of our customers have opted for Online Billing. With a draw for an electric vehicle and a donation of $3 to Centraide, we hope to encourage customers to make a practical and environmentally friendly choice,” said Éric Filion, Vice President – Customers and chair of the Centraide Leaders campaign.
In addition to avoiding having paper clutter, Online Billing affords a number of advantages for Hydro-Québec customers. They are notified by e-mail as soon as a bill is ready and can consult it any time. They can also sign up for e-mail reminders to avoid missing the due date for payment.
On August 31, 975,000 customers were signed up for Online Billing, which translates into 8.5 million fewer bills being printed each year and significant environmental advantages. Not only is less paper consumed, but the impacts associated with the transportation of these bills are eliminated.
