Hydro-Québec: Working Better, Every Day

Hydro-Québec is launching a new information and advertising campaign today under the theme Welcome to Hydro-Québec. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to better explain its activities and improve its communications.

“When I joined the company last July, I promised to strengthen our ties with customers and to display a sense of humility. Our priority is to work better every day to serve our Québec customers, to whom Hydro-Québec belongs,” explains Éric Martel, Hydro-Québec’s President and CEO.

The campaign features Hydro-Québec employees and addresses openly and directly topics on which the company is often questioned, such as rates and electricity exports. A new signature, “Working better every day,” was also developed to reflect the priority placed on customer satisfaction.

Answering your questions

From January 11 to February 29, four television messages will be broadcast, along with print ads. In addition, short videos will be available at welcome.hydroquebec.com to provide information complementing the advertisements. Quebecers are invited to ask questions to which the company will respond quickly on a continual basis. “This interactive concept is a first for Hydro-Québec. With this campaign, we hope to open our doors and initiate a dialogue with our customers,” says Élise Proulx, Communications Director.

Hydro-Québec is investing $2.5 million in the campaign Welcome to Hydro-Québec. This budget includes the production of the television spots, the print ads and the Web site, as well as the purchase of ad space in various Québec media. These expenses fall under Hydro-Québec’s annual advertising budget and will have no impact on rates.

Hydro-Québec wishes to highlight the work done by Québec agency lg2 as well as that of directors Maxime Giroux and François Méthé of the production company Les Enfants.
