Press Release

Hydro-Québec presents the 11th edition of Nuit blanche à Montréal: a festive night of discovery!

Image of the Murale de Mousseau
Titled "Lumière et mouvement dans la couleur" (Light and Movement Within Color), the Mural by Mousseau is a unique work of 4.57 m high by 22.86 m wide and illuminated by a system of back lighting made up of 1,280 m of neon tubes. As a result, the plays of light constantly overlap, producing a nearly infinite variety of effects and colors, and virtually perpetual change in Mousseau's mural.

Hydro-Québec is happy to invite night owls to the Nuit blanche à Montréal, a highlight of the MONTREAL EN LUMIÈRE festival, which will take place during the night from Saturday, March 1 to Sunday, March 2.

Some 200 activities, most of them free, are planned for this magical night: museum visits, poetry, film, music, song, skating, artists’ workshops, art galleries, even winter swimming—to name but a few!

As part of this event, Hydro-Québec invites festival-goers of all ages to visit its head office lobby, where they can view the striking luminous mural by Jean-Paul Mousseau. Free guided tours will be given between 6 p.m. on Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

Launched more than a decade ago, Nuit blanche à Montréal rivals any of the all-night events held in close to 20 cities all over the world!

Hydro-Québec invites the public to take advantage of this event to discover Montréal at night in an exhilarating atmosphere.
