Press Release

Hydro-Québec presents the 35th season of the Festival de Lanaudière

Hydro-Québec is pleased, once again, to be the presenting sponsor of the 35th season of Festival de Lanaudière, which will take place from July 7 to August 5, 2012.

For the last 35 years, Festival de Lanaudière has been a “must” for Quebecers in search of cultural activities during the summer. The high calibre of the Festival’s programming has retained the loyalty of its admirers with each passing year, while attracting ever-increasing numbers of music lovers. The Festival’s international reputation also encourages the participation of prestigious artists from Québec and other parts of the world.

Hydro-Québec is very happy to have been associated over the past 15 years with the Festival de Lanaudière, which is recognized as an outstanding cultural event. This partnership reflects the company’s appreciation of  the Festival, whose organizers do not rest on their laurels but continue their efforts to reach a wider public, putting the spotlight on our artists and great works of music.

This year, Hydro-Québec is proud to present the Festival’s opening concert,
saluting the 35th anniversary and featuring Jean-Marie Zeitouni, a dynamic young conductor whose excellent reputation precedes him. On July 7, we will have the privilege of attending a concert with 300 musicians and chorus members performing a work by Berlioz. They will deliver what promises to be an exciting musical experience.

Hydro-Québec invites the public to come out in large numbers, from July 7 to August 5, to applaud the distinguished artists who will perform on the open-air stage of the Festival’s Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre, nestled in an enchanting, pastoral setting.
