A new charging station in the Bas St-Laurent regionLa Corporation de développement de Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière joins the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with the Corporation de développement de Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière as well as the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. Since December, visitors can charge their cars in the parking lot of the Dépanneur general store, at 10, Rue Principale.

“The development corporation and the municipality of Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière are proud to join the Electric Circuit,” said Mayor Gilbert Pigeon. “I would like to thank our local partners: the owners of the land, Mr. Michel Jean and Mrs. Jacinthe Proulx, the Caisse Desjardins and Dépanneur général, as well as the Fond de développement rural de la MRC Rimouski-Neigette, supported by SOPER. This charging station is an added value for our residents and visitors to the region and tourists.”

“We are pleased to welcome the municipality of Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière to the Electric Circuit,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec. “This new charging point, located close to Highway 132, is great news for owners of electric vehicles driving in the Bas-Saint-Laurent and will contribute to the  expansion of the network in eastern Québec.”

“I am delighted with the commissioning of this new charging station for electric vehicles in our region,” added Minister Jean D’Amour. “It represents an added value in the already diversified service offering in the Bas-Saint-Laurent and contributes to the social and economic development of the municipality.”

With this new charging station in the municipality of Saint-Eugène-de-Ladrière, there are now 16 charging stations in service in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, in Amqui, Grand-Métis, La Pocatière, Matane, Mont-Joli, Rimouski, Rivière-du-Loup, Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac and Trois-Pistoles.

About the Electric Circuit

The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises over 600 public charging stations, including 29 fast-charge stations, in operation across 16 Québec regions. Since its launch in March 2012, 133 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has over 6,500 members.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, theelectriccircuit.com, and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned. The Electric Circuit card also allows users to access VERnetwork’s 150 Québec charging stations.
