Saint-Jérôme, October 21, 2020 - Hydro-Québec would like to inform you that it will be carrying out work to repair the safety boom downstream of the Carillon hydropower facility and it will also be removing the safety boom upstream of the facility. A number of components were damaged during the last spring floods and must be replaced.
A commercial diving company has been hired to do the work. In order to ensure the safety of the workers in and out of the water, the level of the Rivière des Outaouais (Ottawa River) upstream of the Carillon hydropower facility will be temporarily lowered.
The water level will continue to comply with operating levels at all times, though fluctuations of 30 to 50 cm may be felt as far as Gatineau. The level of the drop in the river will be determined based on water inflows at the time of the work.
Hydro-Québec asks users of the Rivière des Outaouais to consider the water level and exercise caution.
Hydro-Québec would like to thank citizens for their understanding. For more information, contact the Info-project line: 1 800 465-1521, ext. 6022.
