Fondation Hydro-Québec pour l’environnement: 15 years and over $13 million granted to protect Québec’s natural habitats

The Fondation Hydro-Québec pour l’environnement is publishing its Annual Report 2015 today, highlighting its 15th anniversary.

Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has granted over $13 million to protect the environment and raise awareness about the importance and fragility of Québec’s natural habitats. The Foundation has thus helped 130 organizations, municipalities, regional county municipalities and band councils by supporting 238 projects.

In 2015, the Foundation funded 16 new projects in nine of Québec’s administrative regions, allocating a total of $964,500. Focused on ecologically rich areas, these initiatives will benefit 62 species considered vulnerable.

The Foundation would like to thank its partners and their volunteers for their vitality and commitment.

A nonprofit organization funded by Hydro-Québec, the Fondation Hydro-Québec pour l’environnement supports organizations taking concrete steps to protect, restore and enhance natural habitats and educate communities about local environmental issues.
