Press Release

A public charging station at Cégep Marie-Victorin

The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with Cégep Marie-Victorin as well as the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. Visitors can now charge their cars in the cegep’s parking lot, located at 7000, rue Marie-Victorin in Montréal.

“Our cegep has held the Cégep vert certification since 2004, and the highest level for the past 5 years. We have initiated several environmental and sustainable development projects thanks to the commitment of students, employees, management and contributors. In all respects, the integration of public charging stations reflects our desire to create a space designed to increase awareness of environmental issues and reduce our environmental footprint. Creating responsible citizens who are engaged in their community is also part of our educational mission,” noted Sylvain Mandeville, General Director of Cégep Marie-Victorin.

“We are delighted with our partnership with Cégep Marie-Victorin, an establishment with a strong vision in terms of sustainable development,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “By offering a public charging service, the cegep encourages the adoption of electric vehicles, while contributing to developing the network.”

“On behalf of the Québec government, I would like to congratulate Cégep Marie-Victorin for this initiative, which demonstrates its strong interest in electric mobility. This action is in line with our Transportation Electrification Action Plan 2015-2020, which calls for an increase in the number of public charging stations for electric vehicles,” said Robert Poëti, Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Montréal region.

With the addition of this charging station at Cégep Marie-Victorin, there are now 149 charging stations in service in the Montréal area.
