The Electric Circuit is pleased to announce the signing of a partnership agreement with Carrefour La Pocatière, as well as the commissioning of a fast-charge station for electric vehicles. Visitors can now charge their cars in the parking lot of the shopping center on 1re Rue Poiré, in La Pocatière.

This is the first public fast-charge station in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Nissan Canada. The fast-charge network is growing rapidly and now offers 13 stations in Québec. Other fast-charge stations are planned in Lévis, Montmagny, Rivière-du-Loup, Rimouski and Mont-Joli.

“We are very pleased to welcome the first fast-charge station in Eastern Québec at Carrefour La Pocatière,” said Gilles D’Anjou, owner of the shopping center. “Thanks to the cooperation of Nissan Canada and Hydro-Québec, we can now offer fast-charging to better meet the needs of electric vehicle drivers at a great location, available 24/7. We would also like to highlight the contribution of Doc Borné in this project.”

“We salute the initiative of Carrefour La Pocatière to offer a first fast-charge station to visitors and drivers of all-electric vehicles in the region,” said France Lampron, Director – Transportation Electrification at Hydro-Québec on behalf of the founding partners of the Electric Circuit. “The commitment of partners like Carrefour La Pocatière and Nissan Canada is essential to developing a network of fast-charge stations in Québec. It’s thanks to initiatives like these that we will reach our goal of offering 50 fast-charge stations by the end of 2016.”

The Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec. It is a major initiative in the implementation of the infrastructure required to support the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in Québec. The network comprises close to 450 public charging stations, including 13 fast-charge stations, in operation in select parking lots of the AMT as well as several RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants across Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 111 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit, and the network now has nearly 5,000 members.

Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging-station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site theelectriccircuit.com and the mobile app for iOS and Android are updated as new stations are commissioned.
