Press Release

Do something out of the ordinary this March Break: Visit the Beauharnois hydroelectric generating station!

For the very first time, the Beauharnois hydropower station will open its doors during March Break. Rain or shine, bring your family and discover this powerful generating station and its outstanding design. It’s warm inside, and the tour is free!

The Beauharnois hydroelectric generating station: exceptional since 1932!
The Beauharnois plant was Québec’s largest and most powerful station until 1979, when the Robert-Bourassa facilities were commissioned in Baie-James. With 38 generating units spread out over nearly a kilometre, the venerable Beauharnois powerhouse plays a key role in Hydro-Québec’s network.
